Early life of Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on December 28, 2001, in Suriya, Uttar Pradesh, to Kanchan Jaiswal, a housewife, and Bhupendra Jaiswal, a small hardware store owner. Jaiswal was the fourth of six children and had very humble beginnings.
At the age of 11, he moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra, without any possessions, friends or family. His big dreams and passion for cricket were enough to sustain him. Jaiswal lived in a tent for three years, playing cricket and working low-level jobs. There were days when he slept hungry and earned his living by selling pani puri.
After three years of struggle, Jaiswal’s talent was recognized by cricket instructor Jwala Singh, who provided him with a place to live and became his legal guardian and mentor.
Dadar was far from Maidan, so he moved to the Kalbadevi area and was provided with accommodation in a dairy shop in return for low-level work.
He was eventually kicked out by the store owner as he could not provide much help in the store between cricket training. Jaiswal, who had no place of his own, stayed in a tent with the Maidan’s caretaker, often sleeping hungry and selling pani puri to earn his living.
After living in a tent for three years, Jaiswal’s cricketing talent was discovered in December 2013 by Jwala Singh, who runs a cricket academy in Santacruz. After taking Jaiswal under his wing and providing him with a place to stay, Singh became his legal guardian and was given power of attorney.

Jaiswal first came to limelight in 2015 when he scored 319 runs and took 13/99 in a Giles Shield match, an overall record in school cricket recognized by the Limca Book of Records.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made his T20I debut during the 2023 India tour of the West Indies. He was part of the T20I team that played for West Indies. He did not play in the first and second T20I matches of the West Indies tour. He played three T20Is on the tour and scored 90 runs on the tour.
